About Me

After completing my training as a beautician in the Netherlands and working in the field for seven years, I developed a keen interest in foot care. Seeking to expand my knowledge in treating foot-related problems, I pursued additional training as a foot health care practitioner and obtained my diploma. Now, my primary goal is to help those who struggle with foot issues to feel confident and comfortable on their feet again.

My approach to foot care is centered on creating personalized treatment plans that are tailored to each patient's unique needs and lifestyle. Whether you're dealing with corns, calluses, or athlete's foot, I strive to provide care that is both effective and compassionate. My ultimate aim is to help you enjoy healthy, pain-free feet that feel as though you're walking on clouds.

To ensure that you receive the best possible care, I work in collaboration with wound care specialists, health practitioners, and podiatrists as needed. I believe that every patient deserves individualized attention and care, and I'm committed to delivering just that to each and every one of my clients.

Frequently Asked Questions

A medical pedicure is a dry, non-invasive procedure that combines foot and nail care to address a range of common foot issues. Highly skilled foot care specialists perform this treatment with a focus on hygiene and safety, ensuring that clients receive the best possible care. Common foot problems that can be addressed with a medical pedicure include athlete's foot, corns, and calluses. By combining foot and nail care, this treatment can leave the feet both healthy and aesthetically pleasing. At Leefstijl, I prioritize both hygiene and aesthetics when caring for my clients' feet. I offer my medical pedicure service in a private setting to promote relaxation and safety. I am dedicated to providing exceptional care to ensure that my clients leave feeling comfortable and confident with their healthy, beautiful feet.
Our feet are one of the most important parts of our body, yet they are often neglected when it comes to care and attention. As we go about our daily lives, we use our feet constantly to walk, run, and move around. However, we rarely take the time to consider just how much strain and pressure our feet are under, and how important proper foot care is for our overall health and wellbeing. Did you know that our feet make up a quarter of the body's bones, more than a fifth of the body's joints, and a twentieth of the body's muscles? This means that they are both functional and complex, and require the right care and attention to stay healthy. Ignoring foot care can have serious consequences for our health, and could even lead to complications down the line, including mobility issues. By taking care of our feet, we can prevent a range of foot problems and keep our entire body healthy and functioning properly. At the end of the day, the question we should be asking ourselves is not whether foot care is important, but rather how we can best care for our feet to ensure that they remain healthy and strong. Whether through regular visits to a foot healthcare specialist, proper footwear, or simply taking the time to stretch and massage our feet, there are many ways to prioritize foot care and keep our feet in top condition.
Cutting your cuticles is not recommended as they play an important role in keeping your nails healthy and strong. The cuticles act as a protective barrier for the matrix, the area where the nail grows, by preventing bacteria from entering and causing infection. If you cut your cuticles, you risk exposing the matrix to harmful bacteria, which can lead to redness, inflammation, pain, and even nail deformity. It's important to remember that the overall condition of your feet and toes can be negatively affected by cutting your cuticles. Cuticles are essential to the health of your nails as they protect new keratin cells from harm and prevent bacteria and viruses from entering. Removing the cuticle can create a gap between the skin and the nail, leaving you susceptible to infections such as Paronychia. This condition can cause symptoms such as swelling, pain, and the formation of yellowish pockets of pus. Therefore, it's important to avoid cutting your cuticles and to instead push them back gently with a cuticle pusher or orange stick after soaking them in warm water. This will keep your cuticles intact while also promoting healthy nail growth and preventing infection. In conclusion, taking care of your cuticles is crucial for maintaining healthy nails and overall foot health.
Cutting your toenails too short can lead to various foot problems, such as ingrown toenails and fungal infections. In particular, cutting the sides of your big toe too short can cause the nail to curl down and dig into your skin, resulting in an ingrown toenail. Additionally, trimming your nails in a curved shape that matches the contour of your toe can expose your nail bed, creating a space where fungal infections can develop. Therefore, it's important to trim your toenails straight across and not shorter than the edge of your toe. To avoid complications and promote healthy toenails, it's recommended to use proper nail trimming techniques. This includes using proper tools, such as nail clippers, and avoiding cutting the nails too short or in a curved shape. By following these guidelines, you can maintain the health of your toenails and prevent the development of foot problems.
It's not recommended to share nail care tools such as files, emery boards, and nail polishes with others. This is because these instruments can retain exfoliated skin particles, which may carry infectious agents. When these tools are shared, the risk of spreading fungal infections like tinea increases, as these infections can be transmitted from person to person through direct or indirect contact with infected particles. To avoid the spread of infection, it's important to use your own personal nail care tools and avoid sharing them with others. Regularly disinfecting your tools with rubbing alcohol or a specialized disinfectant can also help to prevent the spread of infection. By taking these precautions, you can maintain the health of your feet and toes and prevent the spread of contagious foot conditions.

Treatments

As a foot healthcare specialist and pedicurist, my main goal is to help my clients maintain healthy and comfortable feet. I offer a range of services and treatments to address various foot problems and concerns.

One of the most common services I provide is nail trimming and shaping. I carefully trim and shape the toenails to prevent them from becoming ingrown or causing discomfort. I also remove any calluses or corns on the feet, which can be painful and unsightly.

If a client is experiencing a fungal infection, I offer treatments to help alleviate the symptoms and clear up the infection. I may also provide moisturizing and massage treatments to keep the feet soft and supple.

When assessing a client's foot and ankle, I look for any potential issues or problems. If necessary, I can recommend orthotics to help correct the issue and improve comfort and mobility.

For clients with diabetes, I provide specialized foot care to prevent foot problems and reduce the risk of complications. This includes regular assessments and education on proper foot care.

Throughout all of my services, I strive to educate my clients on proper foot care and footwear selection to prevent future foot problems. I believe that prevention is key to maintaining healthy and comfortable feet.

Overall, as a foot healthcare specialist and pedicurist, I take pride in helping my clients achieve healthy and pain-free feet. By providing a range of services and treatments, I can address a variety of foot problems and concerns, and help my clients maintain a high level of foot health.
